Identifying and locating Getty Images and files created from them in the context of expired licenses

Getty Icon - Files purchased before May 2025

This icon indicates which files were purchased from Getty before May 2025.

They may no longer be used after May 2026.
From May 2026, we will block these Getty files and archive them permanently.

However, compositions using these Getty images may continue to be used.

Search for affected Getty images

The affected files can be found via the search for stockassets.

In the search, under Digital rights, the Getty filter is available.

There, you can select Getty image from before April 2025.

Search for unaffected Getty images

Using the same filter, all stock images that are not affected can also be accessed.

For this, use the option 'not filled'.

Files that contain Getty images

We can now also search for files that contain affected Getty images, as well as for Getty files that are included in other files.

Even though we may continue to use compositions, this can help identify material and, if necessary, replace Getty content.

To do this, go to file File linking in the search options and select Getty image contained in with the option 'is filled'.

Getty image is contained in...

In the image’s metadata, under Embedded files, you can see in which images this Getty image has been used.

(The results come from an image analysis.)

File contains Getty images...

This also works in the other direction, in the metadata of the Getty files you can see all files which where found to contain these Getty files.
